HUGE savings by swapping from Electric Storage system to ASHP

Heating a home full of electric storage heaters is often not cost effective, and can end up being much more expensive than running radiators with a gas boiler. This is because the unit cost of electricity is higher than gas.

Even though air source heat pumps require electricity to run, they do not have the same impact on your bills. This is because ASHP extracts the heat from the outside air, using that energy to heat the water in your home. Therefore, it removes the need for your gas boiler, making ASHPS a greener and cheaper alternative.

For homes that are already electric, the savings are huge. It takes a lot less electricity to power an ASHP to keep you warm, compared to running a home full of electric storage radiators. 

Below is an example from a previous install. This client originally had 12 electric storage radiators throughout their home. As a part of their ASHP retrofit we also replaced these electric radiators with 14 new standard radiators.

So, following the clients ASHP install, their home is now able to stay at a constant warm temperature of 20°C AND annual electric bill savings of £6,879! Its a no brainer!
